Infant First Aid

In the same way we put our seatbelt on in the car - learning first aid is a way we can reduce risk and act with confidence.

Of course, we don’t like to think of our baby being in this kind of an emergency but taking steps to learn what you should do in an emergency is a really worthwhile investment.

We cover a variety of childhood emergency situations: fever, meningitis, choking and unresponsiveness.

While this is training is online, it’s still a  practical and hands-on course. You will need a doll or teddy on which to practise.

The key skills you will learn include:

  • dealing with an emergency
  • choking
  • unresponsive child
  • unresponsive – not breathing (cardiopulmonary resuscitation – CPR)
  • awareness and understanding of using automated external defibrillators (AEDs)
  • fever and febrile seizures
  • burns
  • bleeding
  • meningitis - what to look out for

Please note this is not a paediatric first aid course and you will not receive any certificates for attending.

Classes are limited to 15 - partners welcome to join.

"We had our first aid class this morning and it was brilliant. Would highly recommend to any expectant or current parents. Our course leader was so well informed and clear with her information and she was lovely too! Thanks so much!"
