Blossom Antenatal is a non-profit organisation founded in Spring 2020. This was in direct response to the developing global pandemic COVID 19.

Clare Castell, an NCT trained Antenatal Teacher,  wanted to help expectant parents who were feeling disappointed and anxious that they were unable to access their NHS antenatal classes.

The Blossom Antenatal team consists of midwives, lactation consultants and NCT trained teachers.

All classes are taught by these qualified instructors who have years of experience of working with expectant parents.

Many currently work in the NHS and are volunteering their time to help teach parents. This  means that they have the most up-to-date information and can share this with our expectant mums.

Our first class ran a week after UK lockdown started in March 2020 and we have now taught over 6000 women. Focussing initially on breastfeeding, we have been overwhelmed by the demand, but are doing our best to ensure that everyone is able to book onto the classes they need.  And, led by our burgeoning community of parents and parents to be, we have  introduced new classes as and when there has been a call for them. These now include classes for partners, and classes for solo mums. We’re also introducing social classes too.

We know that some of you may be coming to us late - please email hello@blossomantenatal.com  if you are due within the next two weeks and we will add you to a class as soon as possible.

All classes are delivered through the Zoom platform and there will be a maximum of 20 people in each class.  There will always be time for questions.

We are committed to ensuring that there is #nopregnantmumleftbehind - so we always make time for questions following every class.

We want to build your confidence so that you’re feeling relaxed, prepared and ready  for  the exciting next chapter.
