What is a breastfeeding class?
Breastfeeding is entirely natural, but it’s also a skill that takes practice and because of the fact we don’t all live together in a village the way we once used to, it’s often a skill that’s overlooked. Breastfeeding is definitely a learned process, and we passionately believe that the more you know about it before you begin, the better equipped you’ll be to handle it at home. Taking the time to learn to understand how your breasts produce milk is a brilliant first step on your breastfeeding journey.
This class covers all you need to know to get breastfeeding off to a good start, including how often your baby will need to feed, different ways to hold your baby, how to recognise whether your baby has latched on well, how to avoid sore nipples and mastitis, how to know your baby is getting enough milk and lots more.
This session also includes bottle feeding guidance.
